| This group studies Afro Cuban & West African percussion traditions. We look at polyrhythmic music from these cultures and focus equally on technique for playing Conga & Djembe drums as well as hand held percussion instruments. There is a strong emphasis on developing the student's sense of time, ability to achieve a good sound on the drums, ability to play counter rhythms and play as part of an ensemble. |
